Tony Hawk Foundation’s Holiday Auction includes unique art and autographed items.Vista, CA (November 24, 2018) — Still looking for something really special this Holiday? The Tony Hawk Foundation may have just the gift you need. Currently live on eBay, the annual THF Holiday Auction at www.THFauction.org features a curated selection of unique art, collectibles, and items for yourself or someone else. And even better—they all benefit the foundation’s mission to enrich the lives of youth through skateboarding.
“There are some incredibly rare items available in this exclusive auction,” said Tony Hawk. “A board decorated and signed by Mark Mothersbaugh and the Craig Stecyk Rat Bones boards are any skate fan’s dream. Cool factor: 11.”
But you don’t have to be a skater to appreciate the work put into the hand-painted skateboard decks by renowned artist Craig Stecyk. Each board also features his infamous Rat Bones design applied via laser-cut “Boneite” material. Stecyk was a pioneer behind the infamous Z-Boys skateboard team in the 1970s, and the groundbreaking Bones Brigade squad a decade later, which included Hawk.
“These boards are a unique product of decades of skateboard culture colliding with modern production methods to build something that historically couldn’t be done until now,” said Stecyk. “They’re both historical and contemporary, and the fact that they’ll raise funds to build skateparks for kids today is just cool.”
Other items in the auction include a Tony Hawk Birdhouse skateboard deck, signed by Hawk and hand-decorated by artist Mark Mothersbaugh, one of nine Nixon Rotolog watches made with pieces of Hawk’s personal skateboard, a Powell Peralta skateboard deck signed by Hawk and other members of the Bones Brigade, a pro football signed by Andre Reed, apparel packages from Brixton and The Hundreds, a Marvel Comics skateboard deck signed by Stan Lee and Len Wein, a custom bird house made from skateboards ridden by Birdhouse Team pros, and much more.
The THF Holiday Auction benefits the foundation’s mission to bring free, quality public skateparks to youth in low-income communities in the U.S., and to support skateboarding programs internationally. Auction items close beginning Wednesday, November 29. See them now at www.THFauction.org.
