Indigenous Program

Our Indigenous Program prioritizes the creation of public skate spaces and youth development programming in Native communities. The program provides robust technical assistance and fundraising support to ensure the creation of safe, inclusive, and culturally competent skateparks and programming that benefits Indigenous youth.

Since the program’s inception, nearly 40 skateparks have been built on reservations or in communities directly serving Native and Indigenous youth across the United States.

Through collaborative efforts with Indigenous communities nationwide, TSP has learned how to integrate these public recreational spaces into the unique fabric of each Native community. We understand the rules and regulations applicable to public spaces on sovereign land and work to find unique solutions for communities facing limited resources. Through a holistic and community-focused approach, the program integrates local, tribal, and regional history and culture into the skate spaces and programming.

Project Spotlight

The Whiteriver Skatepark, led by the White Mountain Apache Tribe and Apache pro skater Douglas Miles Jr., will bring a world-class skate facility to Whiteriver, where a strong skateboarding community has thrived despite limited resources. With your support, this project will replace a DIY skate spot with a dedicated space for Apache youth to skate, connect, and foster creativity.
