Our Programs

Our Approach

From providing grants for skateparks, to programming those spaces, we are dedicated to delivering resources tailored to each community's specific needs. Our community-focused approach drives each program and each skatepark project. Our programs are fueled by local community members, skatepark users, municipalities, and social skate organizations. Whether we are helping to build a new park, refurbishing a historical skate spot, or delivering skate programming to youth, our work is designed by the community, for the community.

Skatepark Grants

As our founding program, TSP offers grants up to $25,000 for non-profit organizations or municipalities focused on developing new, permanent, public skateparks, skate spaces, and skate spots in underserved communities. Grants are also available to those seeking to repair, restore, or expand existing public skateparks.

Legacy Projects

Our Legacy Projects are developed through robust community and municipal partnerships. From the initial concept to the grand opening, TSP remains involved through technical support, project management, design expertise, and fundraising support, ensuring that each skatepark reflects the community’s needs.

Every young person deserves access to recreational spaces, regardless of their financial circumstances. Our Supply the Ride program aims to break down barriers to access by providing essential action sports gear to youth in under-resourced communities. Through skate clinics, product giveaways, and community events, we work to ensure that every kid has the equipment they need to enjoy their local skatepark safely.

Harold Hunter Foundation

The Harold Hunter Foundation empowers NYC youth through skateboarding, honoring the legacy of legendary professional skater, actor, and community leader Harold Hunter. By providing mentorship, life skills workshops, and psychosocial support, these programs help teens and young adults build resilience, confidence, and a sense of belonging. Focused on community engagement, career development, and personal growth, they equip young skaters with the tools to overcome challenges and thrive.

Indigenous Program

Our Indigenous Program prioritizes the creation of public skate spaces and youth development programming in Native communities. The program provides robust technical assistance and fundraising support to ensure the creation of safe, inclusive, and culturally competent skateparks and programming that benefits Indigenous youth. Since its inception, TSP has supported nearly 40 skateparks, serving Native and Indigenous communities.

Community Activation Grants

Community Activation Grants are available to non-profit organizations or municipalities that are currently operating or plan to operate skateboarding-related programming for the community. Our Community Activation Grants support recurring programs such as skate clinics and clubs, after-school programming, skate lessons, accessibility programs, and other skate-related activities. Together, we can empower future generations of skaters.

International Program

TSP is committed to expanding skateboarding and creating inclusive skate spaces worldwide. We offer grant opportunities for international organizations seeking to create safe, legal, and public skate spaces or implement skateboarding programs for youth. Our international grantmaking focuses on one underserved region per year.

Built to Play

The Built to Play skatepark program partnered with community groups, municipalities, and the Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. Foundation to bring new skateparks to under-resourced communities. As a result, 20 public skateparks were built across 16 counties in Southeast Michigan and Western New York. The initiative supported skatepark planning, construction, upgrades, and additional grants for climate-conscious designs.
