Stephanie Murdock

Stephanie Murdock, known as “Baltimore’s Best Hon,” is a dedicated skateboarder with over 20 years of advocacy experience.  As the founder and President of Skatepark of Baltimore, Inc. (SOB), she has been instrumental in bringing two world-class skateparks to Baltimore: Hampden’s Roosevelt Park and Rash Field at the Inner Harbor.

In 2010 Murdock was awarded a fellowship with the Open Society Institute’s Baltimore Community Fellows program, where she created “Skateboarding for Success,” a program for at-risk youth in Baltimore. She formerly served on the Board of USA Skateboarding, contributing to the acceptance of skateboarding as an Olympic sport and coordinating United States participation in the 2021 Olympic Games in Tokyo. Stephanie has spoken at several national and state conferences on inclusive skateparks and development practices including National Recreation and Parks Conferences (2011 & 2022) and Maryland Recreation and Parks Conference (2023).

Born and raised in Baltimore, she remains committed to bringing skateparks to underserved communities.  She holds a Bachelor’s degree from Towson University and a Master’s degree from George Washington University and currently serves as the Director of Legislative Services for the Baltimore City Department of Housing and Community Development.
